Hollywood to Manchester

We have done it yet AGAIN; we are bringing HOLLYWOOD to MANCHESTER. We are flying over two Hollywood Casting Directors; Emmy & Artois Winner Sibby Kirchgessner and Artois Nominee Jessica Sherman for exclusive full day workshops. Both Sibby and Jessica are board members of the Casting Society of America (CSA)

There will be 3 workshops in one day on a rotational basis with breaks in-between.

Our 3rd expert will be with Andy Newton Lee founder of NEXT STOP LAX; his workshop will cover navigating a Hollywood move, covering the immigration process and the do’s and don’ts (see format below)

THESE WORKSHOPS ARE ONLY OPEN TO PROFESSIONAL ACTORS OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE WHO HAVE HAD TRAINING AS AN ACTOR. THESE ARE NOT BEGINNERS WORKSHOPS!

Here are the bio’s:

Sibby Kirchgessner (CSA)

Casting is Sibby’s dream job. She didn’t know that it even existed as a profession when she moved to Los Angeles, but while recovering from back surgery in 2004 she figured out – “Hey that’s something I think I would love!” Kirchgessner called a childhood friend who is a writer/producer and explained that she felt this was something she could do, but didn’t know how to get started. Sibby asked her friend if he knew anyone she could meet with to pick their brain. The friend connected her with Eric Dawson and from that meeting she worked with Eric for 9 years. Sibby started out as an assistant and quickly was promoted to Associate Casting Director and then Casting Director.

In 2014 Sibby partnered with Dorian Frankel, together they are Dorian & Sibby Casting (they thought Frankel/Kirchgessner was just too much of a mouthful). The partnership is a success!

Sibby won an Emmy in September 2017, for casting HBO’s VEEP, followed by winning an Artios in January 2018 for the same season. VEEP goes back into production in July for the 7th and final season. Her new show for ABC, Alex Inc., starring Zach Braff starts airing March 28th. She just wrapped season 3 of FX’s Baskets starring Zach Galifianakis, Louie Anderson and Martha Kelly and season 1 of Hulu’s Future Man starring Josh Hutcherson, Eliza Coupe and Derek Wilson.

Sibby’s workshop (3 hours):

The workshop will have an introduction from Sibby about her casting process and her experience in the field. Actors will then perform the scene. Scenes will be sent out 5 days prior to the workshop. (Actors must be off book) After all scenes are performed, it will finish with a discussion.

Jessica Sherman (CSA)

Jessica Sherman has been involved with casting some of film and television’s biggest projects over the last 8 years. A Los Angeles native, Sherman took a passion for entertainment and casting while studying at UC Riverside, and has translated that passion into a successful career.

She began her career with April Webster and was involved with Bad Robot projects like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek Into Darkness, Super 8, and CBS’ Person of Interest. She later joined forces with Carlton Cuse and cast A&E’s Bates Motel and FX’s The Strain.

Earlier this year Jessica hung her own shingle Jessica Sherman Casting and cast several smaller budget films like Sundance darling Sleight and Tribeca hit Thumper. With experience in the talent agency world as well, she has a diverse background that showcases her knowledge and love of film and television.

Jessica’s Workshop (3 hours):

The workshop will have an introduction from Jessica about her casting process and her experience in the field. Actors will then perform the scene. Scenes will be sent out 5 days prior to the workshop. (Actors must be off book) After all scenes are performed, it will finish with a discussion.

The Visa process – how to prepare for applying for a 3 year 01 Visa and the ins and outs of the application process. Andy will discuss all points of how to get the visa process underway even if you don’t qualify yet.
